Mel Solomon is an award winning architect and urban designer who has designed projects nationally and all across our city. He has been recognized locally with the "Urban Design Award" from the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and several "Historic Preservation Awards" for the work he has done in renovating and working to preserve many wonderful Kansas City buildings. Few people have the kind of vision that Mel Solomon brings to our city.

A native of Kansas City, Mel graduated from Southwest High and Washington University and has lived most of his life in Waldo/Brookside, in the 4th district. Mel's family includes his wife Linda, a professor at Rockhurst University, children Marc and Laura, son-in-law Charles, and two granddaughters.
