Mel Solomon Congratulates Jan Marcason
Promises to stay involved in making Kansas City great
Mel Solomon today thanked supporters and congratulated Jan Marcason on her win in a tough fought election for Fourth District City Council. "I am proud of what we stood and fought for in this campaign," Solomon said, "a Kansas City that is truly excellent."
With a strong showing of 41%, Solomon called for his supporters to pull together and keep working to improve the city. He pledged his cooperation with Marcason saying he would "work with her in any way [he] can to bring improvements to our Fourth District and our Beloved city."
In the final months of the campaign, Solomon promoted a "ten point plan" to bring concrete improvements and innovations to the city - work he says must continue regardless of who serves in office.
"Let's build a light rail system from the Plaza to Downtown that strengthens our urban core. Let's keep going downtown; making sure it is a place that attracts new businesses, tourists, and people from all over the region. Let's expand the Trolley Track Trail to the Riverfront, take care of our great historic structures and landmarks, and promote strong architectural standards throughout this city. We need to think big, think bold, have a vision that inspires us, and make it happen."
Sincerely,
Melvin Solomon
